Concha de Perla Puerto Villamil

Located in the Port of Villamil, the Concha de Perla can be reached via a wooden pathway. The bay’s calm, shallow, clear waters are ideal for observing the incredible array of marine life. Visitors can swim and snorkel alongside tropical fish, sea lions, penguins and turtles and it is also possible to observe up to 20 bird species.

Sierra Negra

The Sierra Negra Volcano boasts the largest basaltic caldera in Galapagos at 9 x 10km. The site offers impressive views and the opportunity to observe up to 7 species of finch and a rich display of vegetation. The north side of the caldera provides evidence of its most recent volcanic activity in 2005.

Tortuga Bay Galapagos

Voted Ecuador`s best beach. We walk from puerto Ayora’s western border, 2Km along a fairly flat and straight paved path, where we explore and understand more about the arid zone’s deciduous forest and its inhabitants.

Day 1
Baltra. 12h30 Emetebe flight to Isabela Island. Afternoon visit to Sucre´s cave, located 14Km of Villamil Port, placed in the agricultural area of the Island. Enjoy a short walk to appreciate the typical vegetation and endemic plants. Continue to Mirador de Mango from where you have panoramic views of southern Isabela and the agricultural area. This is also a place for finch birds’ observation. Return to the hotel by dinner.

Day 2
Today you will visit some of Isabela´s best attractions, the Sierra Negra and Volcan Chico.

Sierra Negra is one of the most active volcanoes of the archipelago, its recent eruption took place in 2005. Volcan Chico is the youngest flank of Sierra Negra, near its northern rim. Return to the Scalesia Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy Concha Perla where you can swim and snorkel alongside tropical fish, sea lions, penguins and turtles and it is also possible to observe up to 20 bird species.

Day 3
“Tintoreras” is a group of islets, located a short distance from Puerto Villamil. Reachable only by boat, Tintoreras includes a short walk alongside a maze of narrow lava crevices, broken “AA” lava flows, sandy beaches and stunning coves framed by Mangroves.

Back to Scalesia Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon visit a historic site of Isabela, El Muro de las Lagrimas (Wall of tears), this wall was built from huge blocks of lava by exile inmates during 1945 to 1959 as a punishment while Isabela was a penal colony.

Day 4
Early in the morning transfer to the airport to take your flight back to Baltra. Pick up and transfer to Puerto Ayora. Visit to Las Grietas. Las Grietas means “the Crevasses,” a simple name for one of the Galapagos Islands’ most enchanting locations – a series of three elongated, almost rectangular pools amid tall lava cliffs. In the afternoon visit Tortuga Bay beach.

Tortuga Bay is located to the southwest of Puerto Ayora, on Santa Cruz Island. Its name means turtle, since it is the favorite place for sea turtles to lay their eggs.

After the visit you will be taken to Finch Bay Hotel.

Day 5
Day trip (navigation to one of these islands: Bartolome Island, Santa Fe Island, Plazas Island or North Seymour Island) (**Please find more information below).

Important Baggage Notes

If necessary, please separate luggage for the first 3 nights at Scalesia Lodge, since the inter-island flight luggage restriction is half the weight permitted by regular commercial flights to Galapagos:

FLIGHTS TO GALAPAGOS: 23 kg (50 lb) for checked bags, 8 kg (17 lb) for carry-on
INTER-ISLAND FLIGHTS: 9 kg (20 lb) for checked bags (airline allows an additional 5 lb/pax at US$ 2.00 per pound) and 2.3 kg (5 lb) allowance for carry-on /pax.

Upon arrival in Baltra, Scalesia Lodge staff will collect the luggage for transfer to the Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel. On DAY 4, upon check in, you will find this luggage in your room.
